NIWC Atlantic Helps Train Sub Sailors While Saving Navy Money
241219-N-GB257-2002 N. Charleston, SC (December 19, 2024) Sailors at Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic demonstrate the Common Submarine Radio Room Multipurpose Reconfigurable Training System (CSRR MRTS). This training system is achieving significant cost savings over mechanical trainers offering far more versatility while providing valuable hands-on training to the submarine force. The CSRR MRTS is a 3D multi-touch liquid crystal display system that accurately simulates a Navy submarine radio room which is used for communications. It offers photo-realistic virtual training on all Navy submarine platforms and can be switched between them in a single day. (U.S. Navy photo by Joe Bullinger/Released)
